Notes
Key Features of Hydrocarbon Cleaner Citrosolv TC 5000
- Eco-Friendly & Biodegradable – Formulated with biodegradable anionic and nonionic surfactants along with a naturally occurring citrus-based solvent. Minimizes environmental impact compared to conventional toxic solvents.
- Powerful Hydrocarbon Removal – Efficiently dissolves and removes both heavy end (tars, resins, waxes) and light end hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, etc.) commonly found in refinery and petrochemical process equipment.
- Safe Replacement for Hazardous Solvents – Effectively replaces chlorinated solvents, freon, glycol ethers, xylene, and other toxic or ozone-depleting cleaning agents, ensuring a safer working environment.
- Non-Corrosive to Equipment – Designed to be non-aggressive towards metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and common alloys, reducing risk of equipment damage during cleaning operations.
- Pleasant Citrus Aroma – Derived from natural citrus solvents, making handling more user-friendly and improving operator acceptance compared to harsh chemical odors.
- Water Miscible & Easy Rinsing – Fully miscible with water, allowing quick dilution, application, and easy rinsing without leaving oily residues on cleaned surfaces.
- Versatile Application – Suitable for use in refinery process vessels, pipelines, storage tanks, and petrochemical plant equipment where hydrocarbon contamination is an issue.
Precautions
- Specialized for Hydrocarbon Removal - Unlike generic alkaline or detergent-based cleaners, Citrosolv TC 5000 is engineered to dissolve and emulsify both heavy and light hydrocarbons (including benzene, tars, and waxes) – contaminants that ordinary cleaners struggle to remove.
- Citrus-Based Solvent Power - The natural citrus solvent delivers superior solvency power compared to water-based general cleaners, while remaining safe, biodegradable, and pleasant to use.
- Safe Alternative to Hazardous Solvents - Effectively replaces chlorinated solvents, glycol ethers, and petroleum-based cleaners – providing the same cleaning efficiency without health, safety, or environmental risks.
- Operational Efficiency in Refineries & Petrochemicals - Specifically formulated for process vessel cleaning at elevated temperatures (180–190 °F), leading to significant reductions in LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) and benzene ppm levels. General cleaners are not designed for this kind of critical safety outcome.
- Non-Corrosive & Equipment Friendly - Unlike strong caustics or aggressive chemical cleaners, Citrosolv TC 5000 is non-corrosive to metals and alloys, protecting expensive process equipment.
- Environment friendly - Its biodegradable formula helps industries meet strict environmental regulations and sustainability targets, which general cleaners may fail to achieve.
